St Andrew's Scots Memorial Church In Palestine is a Scottish Presbyterian Church located in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel. Built in 1927, it is the only Scottish Church in the Middle East and one of the few existing examples of a Scottish church founded in the region. The building is a memorial to Scots’ soldiers who died during World War I while stationed in Palestine. It is one of the best churches in Palestine which you must visit.

History:

The foundation stone of the church was laid in 1920 by the Scottish Women of Palestine, who had set up a fund to commemorate Scottish soldiers who had died during the war. The church was completed in 1927 and is dedicated in their memory. The church was designed by the well-known British architect, Sir George Murray. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Palestine.
