Ramallah Friends Meeting In Palestine is an active Quaker worship and mission group based in the West Bank city of Ramallah. It was founded in the early 1980s by Friends from Palestine, U.S. and the U.K. The Meeting provides a space for worship, mutual support, hospitality, and witness for peace, justice and Truth in a region afflicted with violence and suffering. History:

The Quaker movement first arrived in Palestine in the late nineteenth century, and various Friends organizations were subsequently founded in the region. But current Ramallah Friends Meeting was formed when a small group that had been worshipping in Jordan and the Gaza Strip moved to the West Bank in the 1980s. For the first several years the Meeting met in private homes in Ramallah, until it began to grow in size. In 1996, it met in a continuous, unified location for the first time. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Palestine.
