Evangelical Lutheran Church in Palestine is the first Lutheran Church in the Holy Land and serves the Christian Palestinian community in the Holy Land. The church began as a mission of the King of Prussia for the German Protestant community in Jerusalem in the mid-nineteenth century. Today, the church serves an active church congregation consisting of Christians from Palestine and beyond.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Palestine (ELCIP) was established in 1851 by Prussian King Friedrich Wilhelm IV to serve the German Protestant expatriate community living in Jerusalem. Since the early 20th century, the church has served an increasing number of Palestinians, some of whom began to move into the area to escape persecution from other Middle Eastern countries. In 1975, the congregation, which was then part of the Reformed Church of Germany, re-organized itself as an independent church and changed its name to Evangelical Lutheran Church in Palestine (ELCIP). This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Palestine.
