Brief History:
Al Qarn West South North Mosque is situated on the entrance of Al Suwaiq city in Al Batinah South Governorate. The mosque was built in 1998 on the initiative of His Highness Sayyid Taimur al-Said and Sheikh Saif Hilal al-Mashani Omani. There is a library and a Madrasah attached to the mosque, which serves the community of the surrounding area. The mosque was built in an architectural style inspired by the Arab traditions and Islamic values. This is a two story building with multiple arches. The prayer hall of the mosque has been decorated in a style that speaks of Islamic and Arab heritage. It also has multiple domes and four minarets. The mosque is an important part of the cultural heritage of the region and it serves as an impressive icon of the Islamic faith in Oman. Architecture:
Al Qarn West South North Mosque is an Islamic mosque located in the city of Ibri in the Al Dhahirah Region of Oman. It was built in 1981 and is an example of a traditional Kuwaiti-style mosque. The mosque is constructed from mud-brick and has a distinct pentagonal shape which is prominent in Kuwaiti mosques. The front portion of the mosque forms the entrance, with an open awning, and the sides form the galleries for worshipers. The central chamber is where prayers and ceremonies are conducted and is surrounded by four small minarets. Inside the chamber, the walls are decorated with intricate carvings and relief artwork. The interior also features an ornately painted dome and a chandelier at the center. The mosque has a separate segregated area for ladies and a mihrab (prayer niche) that points to the direction of prayer (Qibla) in Mecca. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
Visiting Hours:
The mosque is open to visitors from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM every day except for Friday when it is open from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM. best mosque in the world.
