Brief History:

is a mosque built during the reign of Sultan Qaboos bin Said in the year 2000 in the Wilayat of Qurayyat in the Governorate of Muscat. The mosque has become an iconic place of worship in the Sultanate of Oman. It is the first of the three largest mosques in the State of Oman. It is also known as the Mosque of the Northern, Western and Southern Qabil. The mosque complex occupies an area of 4000 M² and includes a mosque, a madrasa, two souks, a library, and a lecture hall. Furthermore, the complex also houses a housing facility for students. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

The Al Qabil West North South Mosque is located in Al Qabil, Oman. The mosque was built in traditional Islamic architecture, and features a decorative Arabic calligraphy façade. The mosque is composed of a large open-air prayer hall, which is surrounded by four large minarets. Inside the prayer hall, the main sanctuary is surrounded by four pillars. The walls are adorned with coloured tiles, which are inscribed with verses from the Qur'an. The mosque also has several covered halls for worshippers to gather, along with a separate musalla for ablution. The mosque features two ablution pools, one at the entrance and one inside the prayer hall. The mosque also has a dome that reaches a height of 60 metres, which is made from marble and topped with a crescent moon. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Al Qabil West North South Mosque in Muscat, Oman is open between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM for visitors, seven days a week. The mosque is open for prayer five times a day for Muslims but visitors may be able to attend if accompanied with a Muslim guide.
