: Al Wahat East South Central West Mosque In Oman (Arabic: مسجد الوحث الشرقي الجنوبي الوسطي الغربي‎), is an Islamic Mosque located in the Dakhliyah Governorate, in the eastern part of Oman. The Mosque is said to have been built in the year 1325 AD (726 Hijri) by the famous Omani Sheikh Hussein bin Ali Al-Bahla, son of Sheikh Ali bin Hussein Al-Bahla. The Mosque is considered to be one of the most important monuments in the region and is believed to be the oldest extant Mosque in Oman. The Mosque also holds great historical significance as it was built during the rule of Oman's powerful Imam Sultan bin Suleiman Al-Ya'rubi, the 11th Imam of Oman. The Mosque is built on an area of around 23 square meters and is said to have been built with stones. The Mosque's walls are said to have been built using white blocks and glass. Architecture:

Al Wahat East South Central West Mosque in Muaskar, Oman was designed by renowned Omani architects, Al Zawawi and associate. The mosque is one of the notable religious landmark in the region, with stunning architecture, blending traditional and modern elements. The Mosque was constructed in stages since it was first commissioned in 1986. Originally, the mosque consisted of three main sections: a prayer hall, mehrab (the mihrab is the niche in the wall indicating where worshippers should face to pray) and library in the west wing. In 2015, the Government of Oman commissioned the expansion the Mosque to 8,061 sq. m., which included the addition of a second prayer hall, wudhu area, ablution, tea room and lounge, sanitary facilities, kitchen, and an annex for women worshippers. The prayer hall is designed with a capacity of 600 men and 200 women using 2 separate doors. The design of the mosque was inspired by traditional Islamic architecture, yet maintains a contemporary aesthetic through its modern finishes using steel, Wood and glass. The façade of Al Wahat East South Central West Mosque is an expression of modern Islamic design, which is an example of its architectural statement. The exterior is carpeted with marble and limestone to create a white façade with motif-like abstractions. It surrounds the filigreed walls of semi-circular floral designs carved out of stonework. Visiting Hours:

Al Wahat Mosque in Oman is open for prayer for all five daily prayers from early morning around Fajr (dawn) prayer until late night around Isha (night) prayer. Visitors are welcome to the mosque at any time of the day, and non-Muslims are welcome to visit the mosque as long as they are dressed modestly and respectfully.
