Brief History:
Located in the Wilayat of Al Ashkharah in the Dhahirah Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman, Al Ashkharah East North Mosque is believed to have been built in the 1940s by Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid al-Rashidi. The mosque offers not only a place for worshipers to congregate, but also a great example of traditional Islamic architecture in Oman. The mosque is a rectangle style building with two minarets at the top. The building is made up of mud brick walls and wood support beams. The interior walls are hand decorated with traditional Islamic symbols. The mosque is open for both genders on Fridays and special occasions. It is one of the most famous mosque in Oman which you must visit.

Al Ashkharah East North Mosque is one of the most impressive mosques of Oman. The mosque is a traditional Omani mosque that was built in 2004 and its architecture features a number of Omani architectural elements. The mosque is located in the city of Al Ashkharah and it consists of a single minaret and four rectangular shaped prayer rooms. The minaret is decorated with floral patterns and Islamic motifs as well as inscriptions from the Quran. The domes of the four rectangular prayer halls are supported on circular bases at the four corners. The interior of the mosque is filled with lavish patterns, intricate stucco work, and colorful Islamic calligraphy. Overall, the architecture of the Al Ashkharah East North Mosque is a beautiful display of traditional Omani architecture. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
