Brief History:

is that it is a mosque located in Al Ansab in the west of Muscat, the capital city of the Sultanate of Oman. It was built in 2015 and is considered to be the tallest mosque in the capital city of Muscat. It was built on a larger scale, since it is well visible from different parts of the city. Architecture:

The Al Ansab West North Mosque is located in the Al Ansab region of Muscat, Oman. The architectural style of the mosque reflects traditional architecture for the region but with a modern touch. The mosque is characterized by two major minarets positioned at the back of the mosque. The minarets stand out from the the main building, both the two minarets are coloured in white and are soaring up to 19m. There is a large dome covering in white and gold colour at the center of the mosque. It is surrounded by four smaller domes, completing the main structure. The façade of the mosque is built with decorated in geometric pattern and the outline of blue tile. It is worth noticing the boundary wall, surrounding the whole area with its impressive massive pillars and verses of Quran displayed in golden colour. As an element of modernity, four sets of stairs allow easy access to the mosque from the outside. Other features are the interior decoration that draws inspiration from traditional Islamic patterns, with a mix of painting and precious stones, which transform this space into an enchanting one. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.

Visiting Hours:

Al Ansab West North Mosque opens for prayer five times a day with visiting hours varying slightly between days and Muslims are the only ones allowed to enter the Mosque. Morning prayers (Fajr) start at 4.30 am and end at 6.00 am. Midday prayers (Dhuhur) start at 12.15 pm and end at 12.45 pm. Afternoon prayers (Asr) start at 4.00 pm and end at 5.30 pm. Evening prayers (Maghrib) start at 7.00 pm and end at 7.25 pm. Night prayers (Isha) start at 8.45 pm and end at 10.00 pm. The Al Ansab West North Mosque is located in Muscat, Oman. The mosque is situated at Al- Ansab North West, near the public park and next to Bustan Al Alawi Hotel. It is accessible by car and Oman Public Transport buses, and requires guests to register at least 24 hours in advance. The mosque is open to visitors every day from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. For those wishing to visit the mosque, they should dress modestly and cover the body from mid-calf to wrist.
