Årdal church is a historic church located in the municipality of Årdal, Norway. It is part of the Stryn parish within the Nordfjord deanery in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The church was constructed in 1768, and has a rectangular wooden building with a long choir and a shorter nave. It is the only church in Årdal and the only church in the municipality of Stryn. It is one of the best churches in Norway which you must visit.

History:

Årdal church was built in 1768 and was the site of an annual pilgrimage on the Day of St. Olav. In 1789-90 the church was refurbished and the present stained glass windows were added. In 1812-15 the church was renovated again. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Norway.
