Iglesia Zaragoza In Nicaragua is a Catholic parish church located in the central part of Managua, Nicaragua. The original church was started in 1860, and its main building was built in 1882. It is a Neo-Romanesque church that has been decorated with baroque style that gives it a royal feeling. It is considered to be one of the most symbolic attractions of Managua due to its antique architecture and the sense of devotion its visitors experience. The Iglesia Zaragoza includes a bell tower and two side towers. The church also contains several chapels dedicated to various saints such as Saint Francis, Saint Joseph, and the Virgin of Mount Carmel. The main entry door has an impressive Greek artistic style. Inside of the main building, you will find a variety of sculptures and carvings. There is also a small museum located within the building. History:

The Iglesia Zaragoza was built in 1860 by Juan Herrera and the main building was completed in 1882. It was dedicated to Saint Francis of Assisi, and was the center of the Church of Nicaragua's religious life. It was declared as a National Historical Monument in 1979. During the Nicaraguan Revolution of 1979, the church sustained significant damage. However, it was soon restored and remodeled. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Nicaragua.
