Worship Method:
In Nepal’s Hindu culture, visarjan or immersion is the primary and most important part of Ganesh Chaturthi observance, which marks the start of the 10-day Hindu festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. During visarjan or immersion ceremony, worshippers of Lord Ganesh perform special pooja rituals and puja offerings to please Lord Ganesha. The Ganesha idol is placed on a platform and paraded through the streets to a body of water (river, lake or sea). People sing and chant prayers while carrying the Ganesh idol to the chosen water body. The idol is then submerged in the water with prayers and offerings as a mark of saying good bye to Lord Ganesha and thanking him for his presence in the home. Upon immersion the sweet smell of incense wafts in the air and upon the completion of the ritual the pooja or lamp is extinguished. This most visited temple in Nepal
