History:

Shreesthan In Nepal is a festival celebrated by Hindus living in Nepal every month of Shrawan (mid-June to mid-August). It is celebrated to mark the arrival of Lord Vishnu. Devotees fast, perform special pooja, and celebrate the day by visiting the local temple or making donations to the local temple priest. Worship Method:

The worship methodology in Shreesthan, Nepal varies greatly from region to region. Generally, however, offerings of fruits, milk, and honey are placed in front of a deity and prasadam (food given to and shared with devotees) is distributed. Prayers are recited, in Sanskrit and other languages depending on the preference of the devotees. Patterns of sacrifice may involve burning or offering of flowers, incense, camphor and butter lamps.
