Worshipers of Gokarneshwor Mahadev Temple make their way to the temple to offer their prayers and pay their respects to Lord Shiva. The typical daily worship begins with offering of flowers to the Lord and chanting of shlokas or mantras in his glory. The priest then recites mantras of Lord Shiva. After offering flowers and pranams to the Lord, the priests perform arati or aarti with lamps and incense offerings. Hari-katha – a discourse of devotional stories and myths – is recited while devotees experience deep spiritual bliss. This marks the end of the worship ceremony.
