Worship Method:

The pagodas in Myanmar are an important part of religious worship and rituals where many religious ceremonies are conducted. Ye Le Pagoda is one of the most highly venerated pagodas in Myanmar and its worship method follows traditional Burmese Buddhist practice. When visiting the pagoda, devotees are expected to show respect to the sacred grounds by refraining from talking, whispering, and laughing, as well as removing their footwear. Before stepping into the pagoda, worshippers need to walk in a clockwise direction, as this is a sign of respect and humility. Once inside, devotees commonly kneel down and touch their forehead to the floor three times, symbolizing reverence for the Three Jewels of Buddhism; the Buddha, the Dharma (the teachings), and the Sangha (the monastic community). After paying respect, worshippers continue to walk in a clockwise direction, putting offerings such as fruits, flowers, incense and paper money for the monks to the altar which is usually located at the center of the pagoda.
