This is referred to as the Pagoda Worship method and is done with great reverence and respect. During the traditional pagoda worship, visitors must take off their shoes and circumambulate the pagoda three times while repeating mantras. After the circuit, pilgrims will kneel down in front of the pagoda and perform the three refuges. This is a ritual of taking refuge in the Triple Gems of Buddha, Dhamma, and Sangha. Afterwards, pilgrims will offer flowers, and incense as an offering to the Buddha before chanting traditional Pali Suttas.
