Worship Method:

The traditional method of offering veneration and worship to the Kuthodaw Pagoda in Myanmar is to circumambulate (walk around) the pagoda three times while making offerings of flowers, incense, fruits, and other items. Buddhists also recite and chant suttas (teachings of the Buddha) while performing this act of veneration. Additionally, Buddhists may also prostrate before the stupa (central structure of the pagoda) by laying out a square cloth on the ground, representing the four corners of the world. As a result of these acts of veneration, the worshippers will receive blessings from the Triple Gem - the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Buddhists may also enter the pagoda complex and pay homage to the various statues and images of Buddha found inside. Kuthodaw Pagoda is located in the center of Mandalay, in the Mandalay District of Myanmar. The pagoda is accessible by both car and public transportation. To get to the pagoda by car, take the Mandalay-Lashio highway and exit at the 52nd Mileturnoff. After reaching the turnoff, take a right onto the road leading to the pagoda. The pagoda is approximately 7 kilometers from the turnoff.
