vaishno devi The Vaishno Devi temple in Delhi is a popular Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Vaishno Devi. The Vaishno Devi temple is located in the Karol Bagh area in the Old Delhi part of the city. The temple is well known for its unique and vibrant Hindu religious atmosphere and rituals. The ritualistic worship of Vaishno Devi is known as 'Parikrama'. This can be performed any time between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. The traditional path to the shrine is known as 'Char Dham'. At the entrance of the temple, devotees are welcomed by a traditional pooja and sangat - ritualistic greeting of flowers, incense sticks, butter, milk, cold drinks etc. The pooja is followed by aartis, kirtans and bhajans. Devotees are then allowed to enter the sanctum sanctorum of the temple to seek the blessings of Vaishno Devi. Once inside the temple, devotees offer prayers and circumambulate the temple. Prayers and offerings are then made to the main idol of Vaishno Devi. After the prayer and offering, devotees are asked to ring the bell at the sanctum sanctorum three times, and finally people take prasad (blessed food) and tikka (tilak) to mark the end of the ritual.
