The temple is well known for its unique and vibrant Hindu religious atmosphere and rituals. The ritualistic worship of Vaishno Devi is known as 'Parikrama'. This can be performed any time between 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM. The traditional path to the shrine is known as 'Char Dham'. At the entrance of the temple, devotees are welcomed by a traditional pooja and sangat - ritualistic greeting of flowers, incense sticks, butter, milk, cold drinks etc. The pooja is followed by aartis, kirtans and bhajans.
