Thirunelli Temple in Kerala practices traditional temple worship according to the Pancharatra Agama. The main rituals at Thirunelli temple are Poojas, Abhishekam, Archana, Homams, Nakshatras, Parayanas and Kalasa-puja. The main deities worshipping the temple are Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. Other secondary Gods worshipped in the temple are Vedic goddesses Maha Laxmi, Adhi Sankara, Vasudeva and Anantha Padmanabha. The temple opens early morning with Suprabhatam at 4 a.m and Adhikal Abhishekam early morning at 4.30 a.m. The temple also performs Pavithra Prathishta for Lord Shiva during the Somavara Pooja.
