Worship Method:

Pattupurackal Bhagavathy temple kattampack is a temple dedicated to the Hindu goddess Bhagavathy. The temple has its own unique rituals and poojas that are usually followed during festivals and other special occasions. The major festivals celebrated in this temple are Navaratri, Thirunom, Shivaratri and Avurikavu. During the Navaratri festival, Utsavam (or procession) is conducted. During this procession, the idol of the goddess is taken around the temple area in a palanquin. Various cultural performances like kolattam, folk dance and musical instruments are presented during this procession. On the tenth day of the festival, a kalasha puja is conducted for the deity. Thirunom or tee-gram is a festival celebrated in this temple to commemorate the birth of the goddess Bhagavathy. During this festival, a seven-tiered structure called ladder is erected on the temple grounds, and rituals such as poojas and prayers are conducted to the goddess. At the end of the festival, kolattam is performed in front of the altar. On Shivaratri, various pujas are conducted in honor of the lord Shiva.
