The construction of the Catedral Metropolitana de San Luis Potosí was commissioned in 1755 by Bishop Juan Francisco de Sepúlveda and the work was completed in 1764. The cathedral took its current Baroque form in 1798. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Mexico.
