Shri Swaminarayan Temple of Vadtal, Maharashtra follows the Vaishnava form of Hindu worship, as do all Swaminarayan Mandirs. In this form of worship, the chief element is the puja (worship) of the murti (image/icon) of the main God, Lord Swaminarayan, along with His parivar (family/associates). The puja consists of the sixteen steps of a Shodasopachara, which includes lighting of the lamps, and offering of flowers, incense, food and betel nuts.
