Worship Method:
The worship method of the Shri Muktai Temple in Nanded, Maharashtra is based on the ancient Vedic tradition, with emphasis on the four stages of the deities' worship, known as the Four Kalash Poojan-Prakar. The Four Kalash Poojan-Prakar involves the offering of the four flowers - Banafsa, Gular, Desi, and Palash, along with the Ashtangi leaves, to the temple deities. Then, the worshipper must chant the mantra Shri Muktai Namah which means “O Lord Muktai, we bow down to you” before the offering is made. Lastly, aarti (lighting of lamps) is performed to show devotion and admiration for the deities. Other forms of worship, such as sthapana of the deity’s murti (statue) and decorating the temple and its surroundings with flowers, is also performed at this temple.
