The traditional worship method of Ganesha Temples in Maharashtra is called Rathotsava. This worship is done by performing a procession with a temple chariot or Ratha. The chariot is decked with flowers and decorations and is accompanied by a large gathering of people who sing devotional songs and perform aarti. The chariot is then brought to the temple which is also elaborately decorated. Prayers are offered to Lord Ganesha and the chariot is pulled around the temple premises three times. Once the procession has completed, the chariot is carried back to its house in the temple.
