Eglise Saint-Lambert is a historic Roman Catholic Church located in the town of Colombes, in the Hauts-de-Seine region of France. It was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and is believed to be the oldest standing building in Colombes. The building has been listed as a monument historique since 1975. It is one of the best churches in Luxembourg which you must visit.

History:

The church of Saint-Lambert is known to have existed during the reign of Philip II Augustus between 1192 and 1223, however it is believed to have been in existence prior to this. In the 15th century, the church was restored, and in 1451 it was granted to the Order of the Recollets of Saint-François. In 1793, the order was abolished and the church was sold as national property under the French Revolution. It was later returned to the Canons Regular of the Lateran, and in 1811 the church was transferred to the Franciscan community. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Luxembourg.
