The first known church on the site of Traupis St. Anne's Church dates back to the 14th century. It was destroyed by fire in 1545, and when it was rebuilt in the following years, the original Gothic Style was replaced with a Renaissance design. Over the centuries, the church underwent renovations and was transformed to its current Baroque style. In the 19th century, it was fully restored by the famous Lithuanian architect Laurynas Gucevičius in 1812. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Lithuania.
