The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Lesotho is a branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS) in the Kingdom of Lesotho. The LDS Church was first registered in Lesotho in 2002 and began its work in the country in 2005. The Church has gone through several expansions, with the most recent taking place in 2015. The Church has approximately 3,500 members spread across six congregations in Lesotho. The Church has a primary focus of helping members grow in faith and become more self-reliant, while also striving to be an active force of good in the community. The Church offers a variety of services, such as seminary, institute, and religious education classes; weekly Bible study and family home evening; celebration of the Church’s ordinances and blessings; and humanitarian aid programs. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the center of the Church’s teachings, and the Church provides members with opportunities to participate in many faith-building activities.
