St. Saviour's was established in 1992 with the first services being held in the Maseru area. The foundation stone for the church building was laid in October 1994 and the building was opened for services in 1995. Since then, the church has grown to include a large congregation of over 600 members. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Lesotho.
