Holy Trinity Cathedral, Riga is a Roman Catholic church located in the center of Riga, Latvia. The church was built between 1632 and 1690, with works of Italian master Riccolo Bandinelli and French architect Jean de Glinde. The cathedral has served as the cathedral for the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Riga since its consecration in 1689. It is notable for its Baroque architecture and as a historic landmark in the city.

History:
The original version of the Holy Trinity Cathedral was built in 1211 on the site of a wooden church. It was destroyed when the town was burned to the ground in 1297 during the Livonian crusades. The church was rebuilt in the early 16th century in the Gothic style. In 1621 the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf ordered that the building be remodeled in the Baroque style, and construction of the new version of the cathedral began in 1632. The construction of the cathedral was completed in 1690, with further enhancements being made in the 19th and 20th centuries. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Latvia.
