Al Salam Palace (Arabic: قصر السلام‎) is a luxurious palace located on the Arabian Gulf Street in Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is used as an official residence by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The first palace named Al Salam Palace was built in 1961, during the reign of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salim Al-Sabah. The palace served as the headquarters of the state administration and was the location of the legislative council. In 2000, Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah was the ruler of Kuwait and he decided to completely reconstruct the palace. The construction was completed in 2002 and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah moved in shortly afterwards.
