Worship Method:

At Manikarnika Ghat, Hindu funerals are conducted in the traditional manner. The rituals involve washing the body of the deceased and then wrapping the body in a white muslin cloth called a sari. This is followed by prayers by the family and guests of the deceased. The body is then placed on a wooden pyre that is constructed by the family in the presence of a priest. The priest then performs a number of rituals while chanting mantras and offering flowers, incense, lamps, and other offerings as part of the ritual. Once this is done, the family and friends of the deceased move away from the pyre and the body is set on fire with ghee and wood. The family and guests will then wait until the funeral pyre has completely burned out to ensure that the soul of the deceased is released from the mortal body. After this, the ashes of the deceased are collected and immersed in the Holy River Ganges. This most visited temple in Uttar-Predesh
