The Church caters to a congregation made up of members from different ethnic backgrounds, including the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities. History:

The Church was founded in 1945 by Reverend Abede Elias Makumi. Makumi was inspired by an idea from a Methodist missionary who had visited him on the slopes of Mount Kenya and suggested a mixed congregation being formed in the area. Makumi and five other men took up this idea and, together with support from the Africa Inland Mission organization, founded the Church. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Kenya.
