is the largest and oldest of the Oriental Orthodox Churches in Kenya. It is a branch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church and the most ancient Christian denomination in the world. The Church was established in Nairobi in the 1960s, playing an important part in the Kenyan struggle for independence. Since then, the Church has flourished and has become a major spiritual, social, and cultural centre for the local people. It follows the traditional Ethiopian Orthodox Christian beliefs and practices and is also known for its outreach and dedication to social services in the communities it serves.
