Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Ugweri In Kenya is an independent and non-denominational church, with branches in Kenya and some parts of East Africa. The church was founded in the late 1960s by Reverend Vitus Ofunye, ordained by the African Institution of Theology (AIT). The church is a member of the East Africa Pentecostal Fellowship (EAPF), and is committed to equipping members with God's Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. History Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Ugweri has its roots in the teachings of African Institution of Theology (AIT), founded by Dr. David Y in 1957. The AIT was – and still is – considered a progressive church, and is one of the founding members of the East Africa Pentecostal Fellowship (EAPF). AIT missionary Reverend Vitus Ofunye was sent to Kenya in the late 1960s, where he found that many of the believers were hungry for the teachings of AIT. Reverend Ofunye founded several churches throughout Kenya, and by the end of the decade, the Full Gospel Church of Kenya Ugweri had been established. Facts Full Gospel Church of Kenya Ugweri has grown over the years and now consists of nine churches in Kenya and other parts of East Africa. The church is known for its contemporary and inspiring worship style, and its leadership. Reverend Ofunye is still head of the church and is responsible for upholding the Pentecostal beliefs and values of the AIT. Services The Full Gospel Church of Kenya Ugweri offers numerous services, including Sunday worship services, bible study classes, and weekly prayer services. The church also offers counseling and marriage counseling services. In addition, they provide missionary programs, youth outreach activities, and charity work. The church also participates in outreach programs, regularly visiting prisons, hospitals, and communities that lack basic services.
