Custodia Terrae Sanctae In Jerusalem is a Roman Catholic Franciscan organization that provides promotion and support of the Catholic faith in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories. It was established in 1342 by Pope Clement VI and has grown to become a major provider of social, educational, and cultural services. Its mission is to provide services and aid to people of all religious backgrounds, while strengthening and promoting the Catholic faith in the Holy Land. The Custodia is responsible for numerous services and activities, including overseeing Christian pilgrimages, operating the Latin Patriarchal Seminary in Jerusalem, and providing aid and assistance to refugees and other marginalized members of the population. It is also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of certain holy sites, including the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the Basilica of the Flagellation, among others.
