St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic parish in southwest Dallas, Texas. It was founded in 1955 to serve the rapidly growing population of the area. St. Thomas Moore is known for its strong sense of family and solid commitment to community.
St. Thomas More parish was formed by Archbishop Robert E. Lucey in 1954 and built on land donated by the Village of Westwood. The current church was constructed in 1960 and is a combination of the Romanesque and Spanish Renaissance styles. Inside the church, visitors can enjoy works of art, including the bronze Paschal Candle holder made by sculptor Waldine Tauch.
St. Thomas Moore provides a variety of services, including mass, youth group communication, spiritual enrichment, bible study, K- 12 catechism, marriage preparation classes, seasonal retreats and other religious activities. The parish also sponsors outreach initiatives such as food and clothing drives, home visits and service projects.
