History:

Old Harbour Bay Baptist Church has its origins in the missionary work of the Rev. Benjamin McLabin and the Rev. William Robinson who arrived in Jamaica in 1844. They established the first Baptist church in the area, known as Franklyn Town Baptist Church, to share the gospel and to provide outreach to communities along the south coast. Over the years, the church grew and in 1923 the Franklyn Town church and the Old Harbour Bay church merged, becoming Old Harbour Bay Baptist Church, which continues to serve the community today. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jamaica.
