Lime Hall Anglican Church was founded by the trustees of the late Captain Augustus White, who was one of the most prominent planters of the area. The church was built on a parcel of the estate called "Limehall". It is thought to have been designed by local carpenter, Abraham Desmangles, and is one of the few surviving examples of traditional late 17th century plantation churches.
