Grateful Hill Baptist Church was founded in 1903 by members of the Bethel Baptist Church. The church was originally called Bethel Baptist. Over the years, the church experienced growth and change, eventually changing its name to Grateful Hill. During the early 1920s, the church purchased property at its current site on Reidville Rd. in Reidville, South Carolina.
