Founded in 1865, Coffee Grove was the only African American-led Seventh Day Baptist (SDB) church in the nation until the late 1970s when three others were established. In its more than 150 years of existence, the church has served as an important educational, spiritual, and community center for the Percy community and the surrounding area.
