The Church of Pentecost Jamaica was founded by Pastor Patrick Ruddock who was seeking to create a Jamaican entity of the Church of Pentecost International (CPI). Pastor Ruddock had studied and been ordained in Chicago under the direction of Apostle Dr. Ock Soo Park, the founder of CPI. Pastor Ruddock, alongside Elder Lenford Pratt, launched the Church of Pentecost Jamaica in 2002. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Jamaica.
