Drumtullagh Church of Ireland is an Anglican church located in County Roscommon, Ireland. The church is situated in a picturesque rural setting about mid-way between Strokestown and Elphin. It is believed to have been built around 1842, although it is likely to have existed before this date. The church is a traditional country style church with a stone walls and wooden doors at the entrance. The history of Drumtullagh Church of Ireland can be traced back to the year 1620, when it was mentioned in the ‘Annals of the Four Masters’. Records also suggest that Jacobites held prayers here in 1690. The current church was built by the local Church of Ireland land owner, Charles Moore Esq. of Moore Hall and the Moore family continued to attend services until the late 19th century. Drumtullagh Church of Ireland is still in regular use and continues to host services, baptisms and weddings. The church is open to all and holds weekly Sunday services and communion, as well as occasional special services during the year. It is also used as a location for other events such as concerts and fundraising evenings. In 2003, a new centre was opened next to the church which includes a Sunday school and a meeting room for other community activities. The church grounds are particularly beautiful, with views of the surrounding countryside, woods and fields of grazing animals, making it a tranquil and picturesque space. It has been designated a protected structure by the Roscommon County Council, ensuring the preservation of this stunning building for the future.
