Newman University Church was founded in 1997 through a partnership between the Catholic Newman Center and the United Methodist Church, both of which were located on the Wichita State University campus. The church was originally housed in a three-room trailer on the south side of the campus, and has since grown to a larger structure that serves over 1,000 students and faculty. The mission of the church is to provide a grassroots community for students, faculty, staff and all members of the Wichita State community.
