Christ Church Taney is a historic Episcopal parish located in the neighborhood of Germantown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Established in 1719, Christ Church Taney is the fourth-oldest church in the city of Philadelphia and the oldest Episcopal parish in the state. It was founded by members of the Taney and Armour families and named for their ancestral home in Wales. It is one of the best churches in Ireland which you must visit.

History:

Christ Church Taney was founded in 1719 when the parishioners of Christ Church, the oldest Anglican congregation in Pennsylvania, split off in search of a new location. The newly-formed congregation soon found its home on the upper part of Wister’s Hill, one mile northwest of the Schuylkill River in the rural portion of Germantown. The original church was authorized by the General Assembly in 1723 and built in 1725 with the help of financier and philanthropist James Logan. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Ireland.
