History:

Saint Mary's was founded in 1850 as the cathedral for the Diocese of Cincinnati, which was divided the following year into the Archdiocese of Cincinnati and the Diocese of Cleveland. In 1888, the cathedral was destroyed by fire, but rebuilt the same year. Since then, the cathedral has undergone numerous renovations and expansions, resulting in the beautiful structure it is today. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Ireland.
