Brief History:
Al-Tusi Mosque, also known as Masjid al-Tusi or Al-Tusi Grand Mosque, is a large mosque located in Najaf, Iraq. The mosque is named after the famous Shia scholar Sheikh Al-Tusi, who is buried in the same complex. The mosque dates back to the 15th century and has been repeatedly renovated over the years. It is a site of worship for Shia Muslims and also serves as a place of religious education and gathering. The mosque houses the tombs of several prominent religious figures, such as Sheikh Ibn-e-Ba’idh al-Bahrani, Sheikh Abd al-Karim al-Jili, and Sheikh Al-Tusi. It is one of the most famous mosque in Iraq which you must visit.
Visiting Hours:
The visiting hours for the Al-Tusi Mosque in Najaf, Iraq, are from 4 AM to 12 PM. The mosque remains closed during the noon prayer from 12 PM to 2 PM, when the prayers begin. Visitors may visit the mosque throughout the remaining hours of the day. For guests visiting during the night, special arrangements have to be made prior to the visit. All visitors, including men and women, are required to follow a dress code when visiting the site.
