The Shaheedayn Mosque is a Shiite mosque located in Karbala, Iraq. The mosque is primarily composed of two limestone buildings known as the twin domes. The larger of the two domers measures 22.5 m (72.4 ft) in diameter and stands 61 m (200 ft) tall. The smaller dome measures 19 m (58.2 ft) in diameter and stands 54 m (176 ft) tall. The façade of the mosque consists of two courtyards, two arcades, and two minarets. The interior of the mosque is decorated with pastel tiles, stone carvings, and intricate stucco work. Two marble staircases provide access to the timber roofs of the two domes. The floors of the domes are covered with classic Afghan carpets. The mosque includes several mihrabs, including a mihrab of Imam Husayn, the third imam of Shia Islam. The mosque complex also includes a library, a courtyard, and a courtyard fountain.
