The Jameh Mosque of Shahrekord in Iran is the oldest mosque and the oldest surviving edifice in Chahar Mahal and Bakhtiyari province. It dates back to the Seljuk era, about 1000 years ago. It is believed to have been built by Ala'aldin Arslan Shah, when he was in charge of the death city of Shahrekord. He moved the city from its previous location, and built the Jameh Mosque and many other structures. It is one of the very few of historical mosques in Iran, and is a strongly built and symmetrical building. It has two big iwans and a large courtyard with a central pool, as well as two minarets.
