Later additions were made by Seljuqs and the Timurid dynasties. The mosque comprises a tawny-colored rectangular courtyard with two vertical aisles on the right and left, a mihrab in the qibla wall, a massive tall minaret, a dome chamber, and a portico. Several cells, chambers, alcoves, and galleries adorn the northern side of the mosque. The mosque also incorporates two Seljuk-style minarets, one of which is still standing and believed to be built in the 11th century.
