Brief History:
Jameh Mosque of Kashan (Atiq) is one of the oldest mosques in Iran, located in the city of Kashan in Isfahan province. It was built in 857 AD (244 AH) by the order of the Abbasid Caliph, Mutawakil bin Harun. The mosque has undergone many renovations over the centuries and today contains a mixture of architectural styles. It is a four-iwan courtyard mosque with distinctive Persian features such as a tiled mihrab, muqarnas (decorative stalactites) and painted stucco decorations. It is renowned for its spiritual atmosphere, and its large domed sahn (courtyard) is filled with trees and arbours. The mosque also contains several madrasas (schools), a library and a monument to the poet Attar. It is one of the most famous mosque in Iran which you must visit.

The Jameh mosque of Kashan (also known as the 'Atiq mosque') is a large mosque located in the city of Kashan, Iran. It was constructed in the 15th century and is considered to be one of the most important surviving structures from the Timurid period in the country. The mosque consists of four iwans and a large courtyard surrounded by a number of smaller halls and chambers. The main entrance to the mosque is located on the southern side of the building, and the four iwans have been added to the original structure in later times. The mosque is known for its highly decorated stucco and marble works which are inlaid with intricate designs and patterns. Furthermore, the mosque also boasts some of the best-preserved examples of Persian tile work in the world, featuring colorful geometric and floral motifs. This is why, it is considered one of the most beautiful mosque in the world.
