In 1989, Rev. Rudy Basoeki and his wife, Yessica Basoeki, founded Wongsodirjan out of a desire to create a vibrant and inviting place of worship and spiritual refuge for Indonesian Christians living in San Francisco and surrounding communities. They started their own independent church and since then, have steadily offered various ministries, services and events open to the public. This is why, it is considered one of the oldest churches in Indonesia.
